Lino Baby ~ Thai Easy Pant

June 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

When I first heard about the Thai Easy Pant I was not overly interested.  I mean, how cute could a one-size-fits-all pant be?  Let’s face it, when it comes to dressing babies… my babies, cuteness counts.  However, when I received my Thai Easy Pants in the mail I was pleasantly surprised.  They were cute.  So cute, in fact, that I couldn’t wait to put them on my baby.  So I put them on my toddler.  And they fit!  She was happy, I was happy, the pants were happy.  Until I remembered that these pants were for my baby.  There was no way they would ever fit her.  When she woke up from her nap I hesitantly took off her itty bitty baby pants and put on the Thai Easy pants.  Guess what?  They fit.  They fit well.  The same pair of pants that fit my three year old daughter (albeit as capris) perfectly fit my very small nine month old daughter.

The Thai Easy Pant is comes in linen or cotton and although they are roomy they actually look quite dressy.  Mine are navy blue with oh-so-cute taupe chicks but they come in an array of colours and styles.  They fasten at the waist with one easy piece of Velcro that adjusts to accommodate babies from 4 to 14 months (although from my experience they fit children much older than that).  They wash up like a dream and although some may want to iron them, I found that hang drying with a quick fluff in the dryer was more than adequate.  What else can I say?  If you want something for your baby that is high quality, practical, and a little different, then these are the pants for you.  The only problem that I can find with the Thai Easy Pant is deciding which baby will wear the pants in this family.

SupperWorks ~ Taking the work out of supper

June 21, 2008 · 1 Comment

SupperWorks was brave enough to allow all five Wundermums into their kitchen to cook up a storm.  They survived, we had a ball, and our families have never eaten better.  SupperWorks is a unique company that helps you make wholesome, easy meals for your family with less work, less time, and absolutely no clean up.  Sound good?  Read on.

When we arrived the first thing we noticed (aside from our friendly and gracious hosts) was the immaculate condition of the kitchen.  Everything is stainless, and polished and clean.  There are two hand washing stations that we honestly wanted to rip out of the walls and take home with us.  We were served wine and snacks, and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed.  Who knew that we would actually have such a good time cooking?  The staff at SupperWorks are nothing short of wonderful… easy to talk to, helpful, and very accommodating.  A few of us decided to make more meals at the last minute (we didn’t want to leave) and in no time at all everything we needed was at arm’s reach.  We didn’t even feel like we were imposing!

You start by going to a spotless meal station where all of the required ingredients are laid out in front of you.  All instruments are right about you on a shelf along with the recipe to follow.  In 5 – 10 minutes your meal is ready to go, in the fridge, and you are onto your next station.  The ingredients include things like fresh herbs, crisp veggies, homemade stock, and quality meats.  They’re the kind of meals we all want to serve to our families but if you’re anything like us… time simply doesn’t allow it.  So we pack up our meals (along with some complimentary cookies) and head on home.  The time just flew by.

Preparing the meals at home was really easy.  We just heated up/grilled the meals and added a side (if needed) and dinner was served.  We were all blown away by the taste.  Not one meal was a disappointment, and the serving sizes were generous.  Everything was so delicious, that some of us have already signed up to go back and make more!  The per serving cost of the meals are very reasonable and absolutely worth every penny.

Not that they need to, but SupperWorks offers many deals and discounts such as “refer a friend” and their “stork special” – where they will prepare your meals for you at no additional cost during your baby’s first two months!  They offer online discounts, parties, and a brand new menu each and every month.

Our SupperWorks experience was nothing short of perfect from beginning to end.  They offer great meals at great prices with great service.  And if you haven’t been convinced by now of why you should visit SupperWorks I don’t know what else to say.  I could invite you over to my house to try out a meal or two but frankly it’s too good to share!

WIN IT: Win a 6 meal session at SupperWorks ($159 value)! Send an email to contests@wundermums.com with “SUPPERWORKS” in the subject line and the answer to this question: How many people must you have to book a SupperWorks party?  We’ll pick one winner at random. Spa Baby ~ The European Style Baby Tub

June 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Spa Baby tub is really like no other on the market. Its design and style are truly unique and really quite nice! It doesn’t look like the many baby bathtubs that you have no doubt already had an opportunity to use. You might even look at this one and wonder just how on earth it actually works? Don’t worry you won’t need a degree or an engineer to walk you through the process.

I’ve been using the tub on a 13 lb, 3.5 month old child and it works very well for this particular age. It is a snug fit for baby though so I wouldn’t suggest trying to fit in your 9 month old for the first time if they aren’t already well used to how this tub is different. The Spa Baby tub is tall and narrow at the bottom but gets wider towards the top. It’s a nice shade of aqua blue and it shows you on the side how much water to put in it. The way that it works is really quite simple, you place the baby in the tub in a sitting position allowing the water to come right up to the baby’s shoulders, helping to keep baby submersed in the warm sudsy water.   It may take a few tries to determine your own best technique and I would assume that you would be able to adapt it to accommodate your growing baby.

I really liked how the tub helped to keep the baby upright even when they aren’t old enough to do it on their own. I found that I could use one hand to stabilize the baby’s head and neck while I used the other hand to wash the baby’s body. In order to wash the baby’s back and bottom I was able to rest the baby’s chest on my forearm in a semi standing position while I used the other hand to do the actual washing. The tub wasn’t tippy at all!

One of my favourite things about the Spa Baby tub is how easily it fits in my kitchen sink as I’m a big kitchen sink bather. The tub itself is made of a translucent aqua blue plastic with rounded edges and seems very durable. It has a grippy rubber seal around the bottom to prevent movement of the tub itself and it has a sturdy handle on either side of the tub for easy lifting with or without water. The tub is designed so that you use very little water while still covering the baby up to its shoulders. I find this to be a very nice feature as it takes seconds to ready the tub for the baby and it is environmentally friendly.

All things considered I give the Spa Baby tub two big baby thumbs up! It was easy to use, durable and lightweight. Give it a try yourself and see what you think!
